Hi, Friends!
If you’ve found yourself here, you’re probably like me—a veteran teacher over 50 (or even 60!) navigating the final years of teaching.
I’m Vicky—Gen X teacher, almost empty-nester, and not quite ready to quit. Some days it feels harder to keep going, but I want to run across the finish line, not crawl across it!
After nearly three decades in the classroom, I’ve decided it’s time to stop struggling and start finding the joy in teaching again.
This blog is for you and me to explore all of that. You’ll find reflections on teaching over 50, ideas for bringing the joy back, and maybe even the occasional peek into RV life. Together, we’ll rediscover our passions—at school and beyond.
If you’re feeling too far in to quit (because come on—we’re Gen X! We don’t quit!), but also tired of just trying to “make it to the next break,” I hope you’ll find something here that speaks to you.
This is our space—teachers navigating what’s next, one step (and one less school day) at a time.
Thanks for being here. Let’s do this together!
– Vicky
